1. My Story: From Darkness to Strength
Sixteen years ago, I was struggling with anxiety and suicidal thoughts, and I would pour all my problems into a notebook, where I shared everything in that darkness. I would cry constantly, feeling lonely as child. I attempted suicide 3-5 times but couldn’t go through with it when I thought of my parents, especially my mother and father. Small things would affect me deeply, magnifying every hurt and hardship.
Yet, those thoughts of my family became a lifeline, reminding me that I wasn’t alone and that my life held value beyond the pain.
But one day, my teacher of mine shared something powerful: “True growth happens only when you face what you fear.” This sparked a turning point, igniting a desire within me to understand and overcome my struggle with depression. The journey wasn’t easy; it was messy, painful, and full of setbacks. But today, I stand here with tools, strategies, and a message that you, too, can find your strength beyond the struggle.
2. Recognizing the Cycle of Depression
Depression is more than just feeling down; it’s a cycle that often begins subtly and deepens over time. You may start by feeling unusually fatigued, losing interest in things that once made you happy, or isolating yourself. Slowly, self-doubt creeps in, amplifying negative thoughts until it feels like they’re all you can see.
